A former Mt. Morris Township firefighter will spend at least 30 years in prison for the December 2007 killing of his wife.

Enrique Torres Jr., 38, of Flint, pleaded guilty to second degree murder on Tuesday, stemming from the slaying of his wife, Rebecca, 35, at their rented home on LeErda Avenue, just north of Pasadena.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton says, “this was a brutal murder and the victim’s family is satisfied that justice was done and I agree.”

Torres will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Jan 8th.
