FORT HOOD (AP) -- The base commander at Fort Hood in Texas says soldiers who witnessed yesterday's shooting rampage reported the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" - Arabic for "God is great!" - before opening fire.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone tells NBC the suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is hospitalized in stable condition after being shot four times in the rampage that left 13 dead.  Defense department officials say the Army psychiatrist was slated for deployment to Iraq.

need to check better

Posted by sick of muslim implications, Northern MI - Friday, November 06, 2009 at 4:08 p.m.

although i normally dont come off against any specific religion its high time we started checking better some of the religious backgrounds of people, We have this nut case that went nuts killing our military in our homeland, we have a president whom wont send much needed troops to help protect our men and women in Afghanistan,I know our president "switched" religions to run for president but his actions are showing his true course, and that is to cause the death of as many AMERICANS as possible.
my son was in fort Hood less than 2 weeks ago, so the report hit a bone in my body hard, luckily i wasnt one of the families whom were frozen with fear about a loved one, mine was deployed less than 2 weeks ago.
this maniac was quoted saying in the past that muslims need to strap bombs to themselves and go to times square etc why wasnt he investigated better, a man saying a president needs to be shot at a bar while drunk is arrested within hours, yet this guys talks of murdering thousands and nothing?
I personally dont even feel a trial is in order for this piece of trash just let him go unarmed on the base he did this too let the men and women of the military handle it their way save tax payers thousands if not millions of dollars.

these muslims have come to our country, and demanded we change our way of life far to long, its coming into the Christmas season and already court battles over displays, and terms are running amuck, they came here, we didnt go there, i believe they should be allowed to honor their beliefs BUt so should we, why must we change to suit them. this goes for everyone not just the muslims...
but we are not allwed to have a nativity scene in public, not allowed to pray in our schools,BUt they can install footbaths for muslims in a school at tax payer expense for their religious beliefs..
the mosques here in the states can go beyond normal sound to blast area with chant music, while our Christian church belss get silenced one by one because ot offends muslims..who founded this country anyways?
there may be a muslim in hiding running the resdiency right now but this country was founded by Christians with a fundamental value of religious freedom for all, that freedom means we have to put up with muslim beliefs as well as christian ones, not throw away christian beliefs and allow muslim only...

Why?...

Well, let's see...he did not want to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan, because he did not believe in the Wars. He is fully entitled to that Opinion, but when you take an Oath to follow the Orders of your Commander in Chief and those appointed above you, you put political and religious views aside. Hate wouldn't solve anything, but I would bet you money that it would make some people in Kileen and Fort Hood feel better...I can understand that. My Heart, Prayers and thoughts go out to the murdered, the wounded, all their Families and Friends, and to those people left on that Installation and Bases Country wide that are now left in fear and disgust because safety on Base is not a Benefit they can count on anymore!

A tragedy for sure

So now we can hear the side that says he is a psyco nut job, and the ones that may see another side of this. Uhhh.... let me see, he has been repremanded previouly for proselytizing his Muslim faith, but that was years ago. Now he has decided to keep his Muslim faith and honor his god. My heart goes out to the families of those that have passed in this tragedy, and to the wounded and their famalies..... I want to hate because of this, but what will that solve?.... where do we go from here? someone help me!
