2 Honor Guards attending funeral of fellow soldier are hurt in car crash

2 Honor Guards are hospitalized after crashing their car after attending the funeral service of Specialist Brandon Steffey.

It happened around 7:00 a.m. Thursday on I-75 near M-80 in Chippewa County. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post responded to the scene.  Officials say  Staff Sergeant Warren Washington and Staff Sergeant Randall Barkley both of Ft. Leonard, Missouri, were taken to War Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
