John Hammond is found guilty of sexually assaulting and kidnapping a young girl

ANTRIM CO. -- An Antrim County man faces up to life in prison after he is found guilty of assault and kidnapping charges.
A jury found John Hammond guilty of 4 counts of criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping following a two day trial.
The victim, a young girl had been living in foster care, but Hammond and his wife took the girl to a secluded home in Mancelona, put her under 24 hour surveillance cameras, and repeatedly, sexually assaulted her for more than 2 years.
The prosecutor say he even installed an escape hatch in the floor in case authorities came.
Hammond now faces up to life in prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
