MICHIGAN -- A review of Michigan's No Worker Left Behind Program shows that 72 percent of those who finished job retraining during the program's first 18 months either kept their jobs or gained new employment.
According to the report, nearly 24,700 of about the 34,350 people who completed the training between the program's start in August 2007 and this February either retained work or got a new job. Of those, about 9,600 or 28 percent, still were looking for a job.
Governor Granholm, who launched the program, is expected to discuss the findings at events downstate this week.
