Northwestern Michigan College audit from the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009 is complete

TRAVERSE CITY -- The Northwestern Michigan College Board will discuss its recent audit at a meeting Monday.

The audit was completed for the year ending June 30.  The college's financial position for the fiscal year stayed stable from the previous year.

There was an increase in revenue from tuition and fees of more than one million dollars based on a 7.68% average increase in tuition. state appropriations was down by nearly $620,000 or 6.7%.

You can hear more about the audit and the college's new proposed policy of becoming a smoke free campus at the meeting.  It will be held Monday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Oleson Center.

For NMC to even consider banning smoking on campus is ridiculous. Enough with the smoking laws!
