A souvenir from Saginaw Valley State University is returning to campus after a trip into space.

NASA engineer and 1979 Saginaw Valley engineering graduate Tony Ceccacci served as lead flight director for the space shuttle Atlantis's May mission to upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope.

The university says he arranged for a Cardinals pennant to travel on board. The item spent 13 days in space and now goes on display in Pioneer Hall, home to the College of Science,

Engineering and Technology. Ceccacci is a native of Eastpointe, and the university says he'll present the pennant in November.
