CHIPPEWA AND MACKINAC COUNTIES -- State Police say a couple is cashing fake checks throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Troopers say a man and a woman cashed fake checks in Kinross, Rudyard, Moran and Naubinway.

The man is described as white, 25-35 years old with light brown or blonde shoulder length hair.

He was wearing jean shorts, white tennis-shoes, and a dark colored baseball hat with Tiger's "D" on it.

The woman is described as 25-35, slender with long straight dark hair and much shorter than her partner. She was wearing blue jeans and tan boots.
