Busy intersection is shut down for new traffic lights to be installed

It was a big traffic tie-up at a busy intersection just outside Traverse City.

The Grand Traverse County Road Commission shut down the busy intersection of South Airport and Cass to switch out the traffic lights.

The project began at 11:30 a.m. and was complete in about fifteen minutes.

Officials with the road commission say the intersection had to be shut down in every direction to get the job done.
