FRANKFORT -- A Benzie County community is going to be celebrating its new theatre with its first film festival.

The Garden Theater in Frankfort re-opened its doors in June. The community came together to restore the historic theater and this weekend they will be coming together once again for a special event.

The theater is holding its first International Film Festival featuring the best films from prestigious festival around the world.

"Our mission was to not only show first run films, it was to also bring interesting cinema to Frankfort and a film festival seemed like a logical way to do that and bring it all together in one weekend and celebrate the fact that we've got this beautiful building restored and open for the community," Explains Rick Schmitt, Co-owner of the theater.
