BOYNE CITY, CHARLEVOIX CO. --
Boyne City residents will get a chance to hear from the seven candidates running for three City Commission positions on November third.
The Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce will host a City Commission Candidates Forum on Wednesday, October 21.
The forum takes place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Early Childhood Education Center at 321 S. Park St.
Two incumbent commissioners, Ron Grunch and Dan Adkison, are running, and there will be at least one new commissioner after the election, because Eleanor Stackus will not seek re-election. Stackus has served for the past 16 years, including the last 10 years as mayor. Other candidates on the ballot are: Joseph Gerant, Scott MacKenzie, Lynn Murray, Laura Sansom, and Delbert Gene Towne.
The Chamber has asked each candidate to fill out a questionnaire about their background and their positions on the issues. After the Oct. 21 forum, these profiles will be featured on the Chamber website,
