Two Northern Michigan school districts are shutting down for two days this week to disinfect the buildings.

Evart Public Schools and East Jordan Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to illness.  School officials say the closures will allow the districts to clean the buildings and give students a chance to recuperate.

East Jordan school leaders have been dealing with about a 20 percent absentee rate due to illness through out the past week. Stay tuned to 7 & 4 News at 5 and 6 for reaction from parents on how the district is handling the situation.
