CHARLEVOIX CO. -- A man apparently blacked out behind the wheel of his van and crashed into a Charlevoix County home.

It happened Saturday around 1:30 a.m. in Norwood Township.  Deputies say when they arrived at the home at 585 Fourth St., they found 47-year-old James Ehrche Jr. of Paisley Florida still in the drivers seat.  Ehrche was removed from the car and taken to the hospital.

Investigators say Ehrche blacked out and failed to make the curve near Lake St. and drove in to the home with his van. The vehicle went through two kitchen walls throwing debris for several feet.   The home owners were inside at the time but no one was hurt.

The accident is still under investigation and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.  Ehrche was treated and released from the hospital.
