TRAVERSE CITY -- A group of volunteers raising money to provide financial help for college students is setting big goals this year.

They hope to raise $365,000 for northwestern Michigan colleges scholarships and programs. It's the biggest goal the group has ever had. The school says it is important to provide this kind of funding because this fall the number of students receiving financial aid jumped a record 44 percent.
