GT BAY AREA -- The Bay Area Transportation Authority wants to know what your needs are when it comes to their service. BATA has launched a month long survey as part of an on-going effort to better serve the area.

The short survey was developed and launched by Krios Consulting, a Traverse City firm specializing in strategic planning services. It's 35 questions long and we're told it takes about 10 minutes to complete. BATA says they hope to get feedback from people who use the service now, and those who might use it in the future.

By taking the survey you will also be entered in a drawing for free BATA punch cards, a bicycle, and a commercial bike rack.

A print version on the survey will appear as an insert in local newspapers. An online version is available anytime, just CLICK HERE.

If BATA would/could link up with area transits like ACT and KPTA all transit companies would benefit! It would help more people be able to have jobs too because we could use public transit instead of the expense of trying to maintain an automobile.

intresting calculations

I'm curious about senior's accounting system and calculations in his savings claim. So was that $10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000... usually accountants are known to be alittle more accurate! I see empty buses too, but I have no idea if they just unloaded their passengers or not, or if they are on their way to pick up people. I have at certain times, seen very full buses too. I believe that Bata has made some bad decisions, in the past, however they are a very important asset to the community at large, and certainly to a particular segment of our citizens.

BATA a waste of taxpayers money!

Has anyone ever calculated the cost of BATA by the number of people who actually use the services?
I suggest the county give taxi cab tokens to those in need that ride BATA. It would save tens of thousands of dollars.
I have seen the buses with only one or two people on it many, many times.
To me, BATA is a worthless money pit.
The four people who ride the bus everyday can now write in telling me how great a need we have for the bus service.
