GLEN ARBOR -- The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office and assisting agencies search for a missing man.
90-year-old Melvin Schalhamer left home around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and has not been seen since. The Sheriff's Office says he has early stages of dementia and is in poor physical shape. Schalhamer lives on Macfarlane Road in Glen Arbor. He is about 5'7" tall, 175 pounds, has blue eyes and grey balding hair. He was last seen wearing a dark navy sweatshirt and sweat pants, with red shoes.
