One man is in jail after leading state police, city officers, and sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase through two counties.

It happened Wednesday afternoon in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. State Police say a 22 year old man was threatening to hurt himself and family members.  Investigators say he was demanding money to buy drugs.

State Troopers from the Petoskey post caught up with him driving on US 131, just south of Boyne Falls. That's where they got him to pull over for a traffic stop - but the driver didn't stop for long.

Instead, troopers say he took them on a 20 mile chase through Charlevoix and Emmet counties, before crashing his car along a ditch just off of Fletcher and Country Club Roads.

The man's name hasn't been released - but he's being held in the Charlevoix county jail on multiple charges.  State Police say the man was also wanted on three outstanding warrants - one in Lake County and two warrants out of Antrim County.
