GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- The curtain is rising on the fifth annual Traverse City Film Festival and along with the much anticipated films will be a big birthday bash!
The 2009 festival will feature as many as 110 screenings and 80 films.
There will be six venues showing films around Traverse City.
Some of this year's highlights include a tribute to Paul Mazursky, who will be attending the event.
A screening of Julia and Julia before it opens in theaters nationwide, a new Kids Fest and the debut of a TC Film Festival School.
The Traverse City Film Festival kicks off July 28 with an opening night film at the City Opera House and at the State Theatre.
An opening night party will take place following the films.
The film festival continues through August 2.
