Emergency response agencies are practicing in Northern Michigan
Local, state and federal emergency response agencies are gathering in Northern Michigan to practice coordinating responses to maritime emergencies. They're calling the project "Operation Dire Straits" and it takes place next week on the Straits of Mackinac. Coordinators for the training exercise say the purpose of the event is to help the different response teams learn to work together and come to each-others aid in the event of real disasters. Training starts next Tuesday and will last through Thursday.
