LANSING (AP) -- Robert Young Jr. is keeping his job as chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.

The court said Thursday that justices unanimously chose Young. The work stretches beyond the Supreme Court. As chief justice, Young also works closely with the state agency that oversees the Michigan court system.

He says the state this year will begin posting information online about the performance of the courts, especially in serving the public.

Young has been a Supreme Court justice since 1999. He was elected chief justice in 2011 after Republicans regained control of the court in the 2010 election.
