Crews from theMmichigan Department of Agriculture are conducting intensive surveys in Mackinac County after they confirm an infestation of emerald ash borers.

The ash borers were found while removing a detection tree at the Straits State Park in Staint Ignace. Over the next few weeks, MDA crews will be surveying a half mile area around the site to determine the extent of the infestation. Those surveys will help the state determine what action to take.
