ELMIRA -- One person is dead after a utility truck and semi-truck crash on M-32 in Otsego County.
It happened Thursday around 11:45 a.m. just outside of Elmira. M-32 near Hallock was shut down for several hours while crews cleaned up the accident scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a utility truck traveling eastbound on M-32 crossed the center line and collided with a westbound scrap metal hauling semi-truck. The semi-truck rolled and its contents spilled onto the highway.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital. The driver of the utility truck, 21-year-old Timothy Luchenbill of Kalkaska, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Michigan State Police are still investigating.
