There's a new leader for Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region.

Rev. Pamela Doty-Nation will lead the three-county affiliate of the well-known nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry.

Rev. Doty-Nation comes to the Grand Traverse Region affiliate with a strong record of affordable housing advocacy and environmental sensitivity.  Before coming to Traverse City, she was the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity (HFH) of Kent County for 11 years, and before that was Director of Transitional Housing for Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids for over eight years.

While at the helm of HFH of Kent County she helped the affiliate become the largest in the state, overseeing a staff of 30 and eventually guiding the construction of 30-40 homes per year - over 190 homes total, 50 of which are LEED certified.

In 2006, she was recognized by the YWCA of West Michigan with a Tribute! award, one of eight awards given annually to women in the community who have impacted their area of expertise.

Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region serves Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Kalkaska counties as part of Habitat for Humanity International, which seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
