A Hollywood film crew is in Traverse city - to shoot the new film "A Year in Mooring."

The movie is about a businessman suffers a painful tragedy, and then moves to a marina town to fix up an old sailboat.  The film stars Josh Lucas -- who is known for his roles in Sweet Home Alabama, A Beautiful Mind, and Glory Road.

Many onlookers stopped by downtown Traverse City on Sunday to watch the film crew do their work on Front Street. The man who wrote the screenplay, Peter Vanderwall, says the area's scenic shores and the state's film credits are the perfect incentives to shoot the movie in the Grand Traverse area.

The production team says they've hired several Michigan workers as part of the film crew. Sunday will probably be their only day filming in Traverse City. The rest of the time will be devoted to filming scenes at other locations in the area.
