GAYLORD -- An Otsego County couple remain jailed following a Tuesday morning arraignment in 87th District Court in Otsego County for their role in a recent home invasion.
Christopher Tierney, 42, and his wife Sarah Tierney, 28, both of Gaylord each face several felony charges including Robbery, Home Invasion, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Possessing and Concealing Stolen Property. Christopher Tierney also has a Habitual Offender-Fourth Offense attached to his charges.
If found guilty, both could spend the rest of their lives in prison.
On August 26, troopers from the Michigan State Police post in Gaylord were called out to a home in the Michaywe subdivision. Troopers say that is where the husband and wife duo broke into a home through an open first floor window, bounded and blindfolded the elderly couple inside and then ransacked the house for two hours.
Troopers arrested the Tierney's over the weekend after following up on a tip from the public. Troopers say a search of the couple's home turned up nearly all of the stolen property.
The couple remain lodged in jail as bond has been denied for both.
A pretrial hearing has been scheduled in district court at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
