Mulit-million dollar project in Boyne City

A 12 (M) million dollar project in Charlevoix County comes with high hopes - of new jobs and eventually - new tourism dollars.
The Boyne City community is celebrating as a major development project is getting underway. It's known as "One Water Street". Developers and city leaders are holding a ground-breaking ceremony Thursday night at the site.
The project includes a restaurant, hotel, and marina on Lake Charlevoix. Community leaders say they're excited to see the construction begin - especially in light of the challenging economic times. While Boyne City's boundaries can make it hard for the community to add businesses, the mayor says it's a good use of the site that could have a great economic impact on the community.
Developers say phase one of the project - which includes a restaurant, retail space, and a 24-slip marina, should be done by the spring of 2010. After that, it's on to construction for the 3.5 story, 37-room hotel. It should be ready for visitors in time for the tourism season in 2011.
