MUNRO TWP. -- An Indian River man dies from injuries he received from a motorcycle accident.

It happened around four o'clock Sunday afternoon on Riggsville Road near West Burt Lake in Cheboygan County's Munro Township.

The sheriff says the victim was east bound when he failed to make a curve, lost control and hit a guard rail.

His name has not yet been released.

Robert Thompson

The gentleman is Robert Thompson, he's my younger half sister's father, and was my firt step-father. The family is devistated, Bob was a wonderful person. Thank you all for your prayers. He will undoubtedly be missed. RIP Bobby.

This was on the Stone Funeral Home Link, since local newspapers have not published it, I found it there..Sad. Pray for his family.
Robert L. Thompson, 52, of Indian River, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, June 26, 2009 at Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River. Rev. Leroy Sutfin will officiate. Interment will be at Koehler Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of service at 2:00pm. Bob was born January 11, 1957 in Belleville, MI. He was the son of Robert and June Thompson. He grew up in Wayne, MI where he attended public school. In 1994 he moved to Indian River where he has been since. Bob was a truck driver by trade. He enjoyed landscaping and caretaking. He was caretaker at the Dukes residence on Mullett Lake for fourteen years. Bob enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time with his family and friends. Bob is survived by his companion of twenty years, Carol Jean Goble of Indian River; daughters, Corienna Lynn (Jim) Johnson of Michigan, Lynda Renee Thompson of Wayne, Michigan; three grandchildren. Has anyone heard the name of the deceased? I live in IR and know many people, I am having a hard time finding out who it is. Could you help?
