Father James Fitzpatrick and Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church will host a candlelight vigil.  The goal, to give the community spiritual support as they pray for strength to continue efforts to save Standish Max Prison.

There will also be updates regarding the events of the past week, and a presentation on options for future protests, should they be necessary.

The prison is located in Arenac County, where unemployment is almost 20 percent.  Local leaders say the closure of the Standish Prison would devastate the local economy.  The prison is the county's largest employer.

The entire community is invited to the vigil,  Monday, June 22, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. It will take place at Resurrection of the Lord, 423 W. Cedar St., Standish.
