CENTRAL LAKE -- An Antrim County business set to close its doors later this month will now keep some employees through the end of the year.

Second Chance Body Armor in Central Lake was set to shut down this month, as the company consolidates its operations and transfers all of its production to the headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.

But 7 & 4 news has learned that while the company will still close its doors, some employees will be kept on at the facility through the end of 2009.

A company spokesman tells 7 & 4 news that due to demand, Second Chance will have a small production operation through the end of this year. It's not clear how many of the employees will be retained, and the company has set no timetable to make that decision.
