ST. IGNACE -- A man is arrested in Mackinac County after leading troopers on a high-speed chase.

It happened early Sunday morning just north of Cedarville.

Troopers say the 47-year-old man from Barbeau was weaving on M-129, and when they began to give chase, ran the stop at the intersection of M-134.  Police say the three mile long chase reached speeds in excess of a hundred miles per hour when the driver lost control and hit a tree.

The man had to be tasered after running from the crash scene.

He was taken to the hospital and then released where he's awaiting charges in the Mackinac County Jail. He's expected to be charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (2nd Offense) and Driving With a Suspended License.
