Two vehicles rest along guardrail

Two people were hurt in a three car crash in Wexford County this weekend. It happened Saturday on Old 131, under the US 131 overpass in Haring Township.
State Police say a driver from Charlotte, Michigan, crossed the center line and hit another car - driven by 22 year old Amber Rousseau of Manton - nearly head on. The first vehicle then spun out of control and hit another car - driven by 20 year old Kandice Ransom of Fife Lake.
Investigators say the downstate driver was freed from her vehicle using the Jaws of Life, and was taken to Mercy Hospital. Amber Rousseau was also taken to the hospital for observation.
Troopers say the use of prescription narcotics could be a reason for the crash, but seatbelts and airbags prevented more serious injuries.
