CHEBOYGAN COUNTY -- A man is arrested on sex charges, accused of assaulting his wife.
State Police say they took 32 year old John Foote of Indian River into custody Monday night at a home on South Straits Highway.
Troopers say the victim, Foote's wife, was injured in the assault. The couple got married about three weeks ago.
Foote was arraigned Tuesday and is charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct, sexual assault with intent to commit sexual penetration and aggravated domestic violence.
Bond was set at $250,000 with a no contact provision with the victim. If found guilty, Foote could face up to 15 years in prison.
He's scheduled to be back in court on Wednesday, May 6 at 1:30 PM.
