An area business is getting a financial boost from a new contract with Turtle Creek.
Grand Traverse Industries is a non profit business that was hired to make biodegradable trash can liners for the casino and hotel. GT Industries trains and employs more than 300 people with disabilities. Company officials say any new business helps ensure they can continue their mission for years to come.
"It means an expansion it means steady work it means more work. This is a profitable business for us so it helps support our operation," says Steve Perdue of GT Industries.
Grand Traverse Industries has operations in Traverse City, Petoskey and Mancelona.
