BELLAIRE -- A northern Michigan family is expecting a little more than they planned for, but they say they're ready to take some new arrivals.

The Lewandowski Family of Bellaire is expecting quadruplets.

Tonya and Jeremy Lewandowski always planned on having four children.  Right now they have two boys, ages two and four.  But in just a few weeks they'll have six children.

"Week six or seven we found out there were four sacs but they thought it was only twins at the time and then we went back the following week and they confirmed that it was quads," says Tonya Lewandowski.

Lewandowski who's 22 weeks along with her pregnancy says there was never any hesitation when she found out she'd be a mom to quadruplets.

"Really, the reaction was 'how are we going to do it' was more than anything but to be truthful my husband and I love kids. We love our boys so much and once we got over the initial shock it was 'this is going to be cool.' " says Tonya.

Part of the family's preparations for their new additions, includes moving from Bellaire to Traverse City so Tonya can be closer to her doctor.

"As soon as we sell the house and get closer to the hospital, I think we'll have more time to focus on logistics," says Lewandowski.

Tonya says although the family is prepared for their new arrivals it's all about taking things one day at a time.

"We just want to make it to 32 weeks as long as they let us go and then the rest of it will fall into place," says Lewandowski.

And until that time, Tonya is optimistic about the future Lewandowski arrivals.

"We never thought we'd be having six kids but it's going to be great!  It's going to be complete chaos all the time.  We love chaos," says Lewandowski.

The Lewandowski's do not know if they are having boys or girls.  Tonya says she wants to keep it a surprise until their arrival.

Tonya  has also been keeping in contact with other quad moms throughout her pregnancy in order to better prepare for the babies.
