A Mecosta County man is behind bars, after police say he tried to lure away his neighbor's child.

It happened in Barryton in November of last year.

40-year-old Raymond Langford was officially charged with the crime day.

Langford is charged with accosting children for immoral purposes.

He is also charged with assault and battery on the child.

If convicted Langford faces up to four years in prison.
