MANCELONA -- The search has ended for a man named Brad. Friday, there were plenty of Brads at Shanty Creek Resort at Schuss Mountain, but why?

"We were trying to figure that out because we heard anyone named Brad got to come and ski for free," one woman asked. "Why Brad? Who's Brad?"

While there were many Brads, the Brad in question was Shanty Creek employee Brad Stilwell. While he may not look it, Stilwell turned 11 years old Friday.

“My son, he just turned 12 and he thinks it's funny because I'll never catch him again,” Stilwell said. “He's older than his dad."

In honor of the leap year birthday, Shanty Creek Resort at Schuss Mountain was celebrating, Brad style.

"We wanted it to be special for Brad," said Steve Kershner, director of snow sports at Shanty Creek Resort. "We're trying to do things for all Brads, things that would appeal to them."

The resort gave anyone named Brad free ski lift tickets among other things. A deal good enough to make anyone believe they're a Brad.

"Yeah, I am Brad Pitt," another skier said.

But imposters beware.

"We will be arresting people for impersonating Brads,” Kershner jokingly warned.  “We do have a Braddywagon parked out front and we'll put people in the Braddywagon if we have to."

But for some of the real Brads, today's special day gave them a chance to enjoy the slopes with the family.

"I haven't been skiing in three years, so it was a good opportunity to get the kids out of school and have a family day," said Brad Rowe, who took the day off from being police chief for Bellaire. "We don't have the opportunity often."
