TRAVERSE CITY -- The Doctors with a Heart program will help needy people in northern Michigan get free dental care.

For the 15th year, three Traverse City dentists are offering free care during this day-long event.  People can get dental cleanings, fillings or tooth extractions.

No appointments will be taken.  The dental care will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.  People wanting to take part are asked to show up at Deerhaven Family Dentistry before 7:30am on Wednesday, Jan. 23.   The office staff expects to have the maximum number of patients for this event within the first 30 minutes of opening their doors.

The Doctors with a Heart event will take place from 8am-2pm.  Dr. Steven Niergarth, Dr. Jason Merrithew, and oral surgeon Dr. Wayne Olsen are volunteering their time during the event. Deerhaven Family Dentistry is located at 5217 N. Royal Dr. in Traverse City.
