Hundreds of people from all over the country and the world hit the slopes at Shanty Creek Resorts this week for the annual "Ski for Light International Week" event.Ski for Light is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that teaches blind, visually and mobility impaired adults how to cross country ski.

Now that the snow has arrived, area ski resorts have been up and running for about the past two weeks now. Shanty Creek Resorts in Antrim County say business is going strong and they expect it to only pick up after the Christmas holiday. The ski business is also creating an economic boost for local shops and restaurants.
