State lawmakers are stepping up their efforts to win millions of dollars in federal recovery act money for schools across the state. The Senate Education Committee are meeting next week. They plan to talk about Michigan's chance at winning grant money for schools as part of the Obama Administration's Race to the Top competition. The Traverse City Area Public School District says the money is crucial during these tough financial times.
