As the summer season slowly gets underway in northern Michigan, 7&4 News wants to help boater’s brush-up on boating safety, specially the laws required for wearing life jackets.

The National Safe Boating Council will attempt to set a world record for the most life jackets worn and inflatable life jackets inflated, and the Grand Traverse Bay Sail and Power Squadron is urging people to participate.
