Thousands of walkers and runners are taking part in the 55th Annual Labor Day Bridge Walk.

Gov. Rick Snyder and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley kicked off the five-mile-walk around 6:30 a.m. Monday. About 300 runners were first to cross the Mighty Mac and officials expect about 45,000 people to walk the bridge.
