The Medicine Shoppe in Traverse City will now serve as a collection site for unwanted, unused, and expired medication. The substances dropped off at the pharmacy will be taken downstate and destroyed safely to avoid potential contamination of our watersheds.

Compact Fluorescent light bulbs are becoming more popular because of their energy efficiency and long life span, but the bulbs also contain mercury, which is harmful for the environment. When bulbs burn out, recycling is recommended to keep dangerous chemicals out of the environment.
