A sledding accident ended the life of a young Northern Michigan girl three years ago, but since then, her mother has set a mission: Spread the importance of winter safety to other parents so something like this never happens again.

Jennifer Ritter, an injury prevention coordinator with Safe Kids North Shore & Injury Prevention Coalition goes around to area schools to speak with students about winter safety. The program was created after a young girl was killed in a sledding accident in Grand Traverse County.
