Shape up in 15 minutes or less each day

Lose Weight! No I'm not picking on you, that just happens to be one of the top New Year's resolutions for 2013. But for some of us, that is easier said than done. Trying to carve out time to get fit while juggling kids, work, errands and household chores can seem almost impossible. But I found a few quick workout plans for the busy moms out there who want to shed a few pounds or build up some muscles for a "Supermom" body. The best part is you can do them all in your home or at the playground with your kids.

I found a couple of workout articles on Parenting.com, one lists the best abdominal workouts for moms and the other is a 10 minute workout for busy moms.

The ab workouts don't look too complicated. They are yoga positions that will help to strengthen your core, which is good for us moms when we are picking up heavy toddlers or carrying in all of our groceries in one trip! Downward dog and warrior poses are just a couple of the positions you will find in the full article HERE.

The 10 minute workout may be more challenging but it will put your muscles to work. This includes a couple of chair lift exercises, crunches and push-ups. You can read the full article HERE.

If you are looking for something a little more difficult I found a 5-4-3-2-1 workout on Pinterest. The entire workout is 15 minutes long and is broken down by exercises that you do for five minutes, then a set of exercises you do for four minutes, a set you do for three minutes, and so on.  You can see the full workout HERE.

For example for 5 minutes:

-Do any cardio that you want to do

or

-1 minute high knees

-1 minute jumping jacks

-1 minute front kicks

-1 minute jumping jacks

-1 minute run in place

I also found a fun workout on the Oh So Savvy Mom blog that you can do while you are at the park with your kids. It is called "The 15 Minute Jungle Gym Workout" that will work your arms and legs. You can find the full article HERE.

These exercises are quick and don't seem to be too demanding, especially for the busiest of us moms. I resolved to start doing P90X again, but it is very demanding and you definitely have to carve out a lot of time to get a full work out in. If I am not able to keep up with it this time around then I think I will give a couple of these short workouts a try!

If you can discipline yourself to find 15-20 minutes in your day to exercise I am sure it will leave you feeling better about yourself and you will get a little boost of energy in your day.

Let me know if you try any of these and share your workout tips with me!

Break a mirror with these ugly Christmas sweater ideas

It's that time time of year again...time to sing Christmas carols, bake cheerful cookies and head to the thrift store to snag a new ugly Christmas sweater!I did some "research" on Pinterest to day and found a few ideas that will make your sweaters look like Christmas barfed all over them.

How Pinteresting: Quick and creative last-minute gifts

Procrastination can get the best of us anytime of the year, but it can be even worse during the holidays. The bumper-to-bumper traffic can be enough to keep anyone inside until the holiday rush is over, but if you don't get out to get a gift you may be left feeling guilty once the gift giving begins. If you do get stuck in a rut this season, I found a few quick and inexpensive gifts you can whip up as late as 10 minutes before you're due to give a gift.

Make memories with Christmas ornaments from the kids

This year I was planning to decorate our Christmas tree with handmade ornaments, but I gave in and bought ornaments from the store. I know, completely unoriginal, but I was eager to decorate the tree and had no time to make the ornaments. But that doesn't mean I can't start making ornaments for the tree next year! I like the idea of getting the kids involved with decorating for Christmas.
