If you haven't started decorating for the holidays yet, now is the time to start looking for ideas.

I like to consider myself a pretty crafty person, so when I see something that I can make myself I always give it a try.

Often times it's cheaper and it's always a talking point when friends and family come over to visit.

When I was on Pinterest today I came across a few great pins for holiday decorations. I also found a bunch of ideas for fun holiday ornaments.

My family and I put up our new Christmas tree up this weekend and while it looks beautiful all decked out in lights it is certainly lacking in the ornament department.

I wanted to do something original this year and make our own Christmas ornaments. Since moving here I have been eager to get sand from all of the lakes we've visited and put the sand in clear ornament balls and throw in a tag with the name of each lake.

Unfortunately, the snow got here before we got out to do it, so now I am looking for new ideas.

I am always up for the challenge of decorating on a dime, so I found a few ideas that are adorable and won't hurt your pocketbook.

All of the pictures are in the photo slideshow above.

I love the idea of using old Christmas sheet music to make ornaments.

I also found an article on HGTV where they make a wreathe out of sheet music.

I was thinking we could go with a Santa Claus theme this year for our tree. The tree skirt looks like a Santa Claus hat and I thought it was only fitting to make the tree topper a Santa hat.

I came across a cute idea for Santa themed ornaments HERE. The picture is also above.

You can also use old food boxes and wrap them to decorate your mantle or hang on the wall as presents.

Want an easy way to decorate for indoors or outdoors? Fill up mason jars with Epson salt. It will look like snow on the inside and you can brighten things up by putting a tea light candle in the jar.

And while you are working hard this holiday season why not satisfy your taste buds while you're at it!

Martha Stewart has 28 easy candy recipes for you to munch on HERE. There is everything from peanut brittle and fruit jellies to peanut butter pretzel candy and peppermint fudge.

And while you're making goodies in the kitchen you can do it in style!

I found a really cute pin for how to dress up plain old flats. You can wear tights and tie a big silky ribbon around your foot and you can switch up the colors. So, rather than splurge on a new pair of shoes you can save money and get away with wearing decorative bows this season! You can even decorate your dining room chairs with bows to spice them up for the holidays.

Busy moms get fit and feel good fast

Lose Weight! No I'm not picking on you, that just happens to be one of the top New Year's resolutions for 2013. But for some of us, that is easier said than done. Trying to carve out time to get fit while juggling kids, work, errands and household chores can seem almost impossible. But I found a few quick workout plans for the busy moms out there who want to shed a few pounds or build up some muscles for a "Supermom" body. The best part is you can do them all in your home or at the playground with your kids.

Break a mirror with these ugly Christmas sweater ideas

It's that time time of year again...time to sing Christmas carols, bake cheerful cookies and head to the thrift store to snag a new ugly Christmas sweater!I did some "research" on Pinterest to day and found a few ideas that will make your sweaters look like Christmas barfed all over them.

How Pinteresting: Quick and creative last-minute gifts

Procrastination can get the best of us anytime of the year, but it can be even worse during the holidays. The bumper-to-bumper traffic can be enough to keep anyone inside until the holiday rush is over, but if you don't get out to get a gift you may be left feeling guilty once the gift giving begins. If you do get stuck in a rut this season, I found a few quick and inexpensive gifts you can whip up as late as 10 minutes before you're due to give a gift.
