Hold me closer tiny dancer!

The Rumba was a success! I am thrilled to announce that I got two 10’s from the judges. My total score was 36/40, which was good enough for second place on the evening. I am also happy to report that I am no longer in last place!!

More importantly, we have now raised more than $3,000 for the local chapter of the American Red Cross!! As a group, more than $100,000 has been raised for local charities. A special shout out to Denise, who in the last month alone brought in more than $30,000 for the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center! That’s a new record…and worthy of another “Hold me closer tiny dancer” reference.

All classic rock quotes aside, Friday was a big success. The experience of a night at Swingshift and the Stars is something I have grown very fond of. It’s a group of people who enjoy the right things in life: Family, friends, laughter, helping others and the dangerous combination of a cash bar and a dance floor.

It is sad to think we only have one dance left. However, the New Years Eve finale is going to be awesome.

Thanks to all of you who have supported us throughout the event. It is much appreciated.

I would also be remiss if I did not thank my dance partner Laura Cannon. She is great and has really added to the fun of Swingshift.

I’ll check in next week with an update on our progress.

Have fun in the snow and keep on dancing.

In their fourth album, aptly titled Led Zeppelin IV, a song was released that seemingly changed Rock n’ Roll. The song was Stairway to Heaven. The sound was Plant and Page. The two wrote the song fireside in an old county house in Hampshire.
