Spencer and his buddy enjoying the Colorado landscape

As a proud military mom I wanted to update everyone on where my boys, who are both serving in the Armed Forces, are stationed.

Spencer, who is serving in the Army returned from Iraq.  After a debriefing at Fort Hood, he is now stationed in Colorado.  I can't imagine what it's like to go from desert living for a year and then moving to Colorado!  He's enjoying the area and sends me pictures of his adventures rock climbing.  It's ironic I keep telling him to be careful having fun considering he was just in Iraq!

My son Preston, who is a Marine, recently deployed for a 9-month tour of duty overseas.  He is currently in Japan where he will soon board a Navy ship.  I feel like he's safer on a ship than Spencer was in Iraq, although I'm sure he will be heading to some scary places!

My daughter who is 9 is keeping track of her brothers with a huge map I bought her.  It covers half of her bedroom wall and has pins to show her where her brothers are located.  This is one way I found to help her understand why they can't always call and say hi.  We have fun putting together 'care packages' for them and putting in little mementos to let them know we are thinking of them.  I am  also so grateful for Facebook!
