KALKASKA -- Are there ghosts at the Kal-Ho in Kalkaska? Judge for yourself!
I didn't think I personally had a haunting experience at the Kal-Ho Lounge, until I downloaded the pictures I took at the event!
Here's a history lesson on the building:
Call it legend, or just a horror story ... anyone who has been to the Kal-Ho Lounge in Kalkaska has no doubt heard about the ramblings of a ghost named "Bill".
Legend has it that Bill lives in the walls of the building, and there are some who have experienced it first hand.
Learning about the history of the building has all the makings a great ghost story! More than one hundred years ago the Kal-Ho Lounge's basement was a morgue. As is today, there was a bar on the main floor, and in the upper level was a brothel. Apparently, Bill died in one of the upstairs rooms and his body was taken downstairs to the morgue.
Bills tall dark shadow figure (complete with a ten gallon cowboy hat and long coat) has been seen by many. Among the stories ... bathroom doors have locked by themselves, lights have flickered, and the pool table light has swung around.
A local medium, Tammy Schuster, took a group of us into the basement of the building Monday night ... A few people did experience some strange feelings. One woman's ears started to get very hot (in fact I saw they were bright red!) she also had a hard time breathing for a short while. I didn't personally feel differently in the basement, but when I downloaded the pictures the next day ... I now believe there were spirits down there.
See for yourself ... I'm told by Tammy the perfect circles you see in each picture are 'energy' or spirits. The last picture really speaks for itself! My brother and I were heading back up the stairs while the rest of the group was still in the back of the basement. I had him pose for a picture. When I first looked at the digital photos on my camera I didn't see anything. When I downloaded them it was another story!
Judge for yourself, and leave a comment if you have a ghost story of your own to tell!!
