High pressure moves over the Great Lakes for Monday giving us some sunshine and a break from the snow.
We'll start Tuesday the same way, but things change as we go throughout the day, and as our next system moves in you may be looking at a messy Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commute.
A low pressure system is forming in Texas, and will move into Missouri by Tuesday morning, hitting the Ohio valley by Tuesday evening.
Out ahead of the low there will be a lot of moisture, and the air will be cold enough for wet, heavy snow. Expect snow showers to lift from the south to the north starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing through the night into Wednesday.
We're keeping an eye on this system as a slight change in the track will change the amount and type of precipitation that falls. South of I-96 may be warm enough for some rain and a lesser amount of snow, while some areas in Northern Michigan may be picking up 2-5" of snow.
As of the time of this posting... Mason, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, and Isabella counties are under a winter storm watch from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning for slick roads and accumulating snowfall during that time period.
