ISABELLA COUNTY -- In the last three days, there have been five armed robberies at businesses in Isabella county and now police are saying they could be connected.

The most recent robbery took place at the Check N Cash located at 100 S. Mission around 2 pm on Monday. Mount Pleasant Police believe it is the same suspect from the previous four robberies.

He is described as a Hispanic or white male, about 30 years old, and approximately 5’10” in height.  He was last seen wearing a black knit hat, black coat, and black sunglasses.

Schools were placed on lockdown but have since been released.

A previous incident happened around 11 pm on Sunday at the Subway Restaurant on Mission St. A man entered the business, showing a hand gun and took an undisclosed amount of money. He left through the front doors and went south. Mt. Pleasant Police believe this robbery is related to others this weekend.

Another incident happened around 4:00pm Sunday afternoon at The Next Door Food Store located on West High Street in Union Township. Mount Pleasant Police tell 7&4 News that a man entered the business, holding a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect took off on foot heading northbound through the parking lot.

Two very similar armed robberies happened on Saturday and now police believe they could be connected.

At midnight on Saturday, a man with a gun robbed The Next Door Food Store this one located on East Remus Road. Then at noon on Saturday a man holding a gun robbed the Advance America Cash Advance on South Mission Street.

Police say at this time, they have no reason to believe that the community is at risk.

If you have any information regarding this incident please contact Central Dispatch at 989-773-1000 or the Mt. Pleasant Tip Line at 989-779-9111.
